As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at St. Paul's Senior Services, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to elderly individuals who require assistance with daily living activities.
Program Description:
St. Paul's PACE program is dedicated to supporting seniors aged 55 and older who are managing chronic illnesses or disabilities. Our goal is to enable these individuals to maintain their independence while receiving comprehensive medical care in their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the In-Home Services CNA Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting participants with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and oral care.
- Helping participants with mobility, including getting in and out of bed and ambulation.
- Supporting prescribed exercise routines as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Preparing and serving meals, including special dietary needs.
- Assisting with restroom needs and the use of commodes or bedpans.
- Providing assistance with medications that participants can self-administer.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a formal CNA training program is necessary for CNA applicants.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current California CNA certification for CNAs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
- Successful completion of First Aid and CPR training with the American Heart Association.
