Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech therapy services to patients within designated areas, facilitating the establishment of full caseloads for new speech therapists.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance VIVA Pediatrics' visibility among potential referral sources.
  • Conduct clinical assessments to determine patient needs and suitability for services.
  • Document and maintain clinical records, including Plans of Care and progress notes, while adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Implement infection control measures and universal precautions during patient care activities.
  • Accept clinical assignments aligned with your education and expertise.
  • Oversee and support team members in delivering patient care that aligns with individual needs.
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements as mandated by the agency and licensing board.
  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, maintaining accurate records of assessments and progress.
  • Educate patients and families about communication and feeding strategies, as well as discharge planning.
  • Demonstrate ongoing professional growth and commitment to competency.
  • Promote the agency's mission and adhere to administrative policies.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for new therapists.
  • Mentor and support fellow speech therapists as needed.
  • Be available for clinical inquiries from other therapists.
  • Review clinical notes and evaluations.
  • Develop training programs for speech therapists as required.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
  • Work effectively under pressure to meet patient needs and deadlines.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in pediatric speech therapy.
  • Ability to supervise Clinical Fellows and/or Speech Therapy Assistants.
  • Current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience in feeding therapy.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Current CPR and Hepatitis profile.
  • Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
