Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at South Shore Health. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and making a positive impact in their community.

The Phlebotomy Specialist will be responsible for performing phlebotomy functions, including venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick procedures, as well as non-technical duties in areas such as laboratory, outpatient services, and off-site locations.

• Perform phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients.
• Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes.
• Determine priority of STAT draws and ensure timely transport of patient specimens to the lab.
• Utilize computers as appropriate in completing assigned functions.
• Organize assigned work and accurately complete workload statistics.
• Help co-workers when needed and communicate with laboratory departments to ensure an orderly workflow.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year of full-time experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification Preferred.
• Completion of accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.
