Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our team at Lake Land College. As a correctional education specialist, you will be responsible for teaching in discipline areas as assigned by the respective Associate Dean.

About the Role

  • Teach in discipline areas as assigned by the Associate Dean
  • Demonstrate mastery of subject matter and commitment to teaching and learning
  • Focus on student retention and success

Key Responsibilities

  1. Orient students to college policies and procedures
  2. Comply with Illinois Department of Corrections regulations and procedures
  3. Develop instructional materials, including course syllabi and assessments
  4. Maintain accurate student records and submit required documentation
  5. Remain current with content, technology, and instructional methods
  6. Maintain professional communication with the Associate Dean
  7. Supervise students in assigned areas and report issues to security staff and the Associate Dean
  8. Assist institutional personnel during emergency situations

Requirements

  • Masters degree in the discipline
  • Minimum 2,000 hours work experience in the field
  • Ability to learn Lake Land College information systems and processes
  • Professional credentials required to teach in area of discipline

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is not eligible for benefits.
