Key Responsibilities- Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, and intake and output.
- Perform and report Point of Care Testing.
- Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee.
- Provide personal hygiene services, including bathing, oral suctioning, and wound care.
- Assist with feeding and ambulation.
- Ensure patient safety and security, including assisting with restraints and collecting data related to patient needs/emergencies.
- Distribute and document patients' medications, adhering to Title 40, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 95.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable facility environment, including obtaining and storing medications and supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
This position is located in a clean and safe medical facility within the confines of a prison, jail, or juvenile detention center. The work environment may be noisy, with odors, cramped work space, and/or fumes. Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required, including lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
This position requires shift work, including extended or alternate shifts as needed. The ability to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing activities is essential. Security clearance is required, and pre-employment drug testing is also required.
