We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our Hematology team at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure the quality of testing by performing quality control procedures, instrument maintenance, and calibration.
- Review patient results, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Communicate critical values and barriers to testing to medical staff, documenting according to laboratory policy.
- Participate in the training of new medical technologists and residents, as directed by senior staff.
- NYS DOH licensure as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with completion of an internship at a qualified institution acceptable.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- ASCP certification.
- Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
