Position: Landscape Technician
Employment Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports To: Crew Leader/General Foreperson
Key Responsibilities of the Landscape Technician at Wright Tree Service:
- Utilizes chainsaws to trim brush, logs, and stumps from larger trees, operating from ground level with gasoline-powered equipment.
- Handles loading and unloading of trucks with logs, stumps, and debris, as well as feeding brush into a wood chipper.
- Works in proximity to hazardous machinery.
- Endures high noise levels from equipment and must wear appropriate personal protective gear.
- Exposed to varying weather conditions and natural elements, including irritating plants and insects.
- May operate in rugged terrain.
- Assists in enforcing safety protocols among crew members.
- Ensures safety for employees and the public in work zones, coordinating with local authorities when necessary.
- Applies herbicides and growth regulators as needed.
- Operates a truck with an attached brush chipper or similar equipment.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Sets up tools and equipment at job sites.
- Services vehicles and equipment, keeping them in optimal condition and reporting maintenance needs.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications for the Landscape Technician at Wright Tree Service:
- Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be capable of entering and exiting a vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
- Must withstand various weather conditions while performing job tasks.
- Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must communicate effectively and represent Wright Tree Service professionally.
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently.
- Willingness to work extended hours and overtime during emergencies, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining all required tools and equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Maintain certification for herbicide application as required by Wright Tree Service and applicable laws.
- Must hold valid First-Aid and CPR certifications.
