Job Summary

The Highlands is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dining Services Utility to join our team. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, ensuring that all dishes and utensils are properly sanitized and stored, and assisting with food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Wash, dry, and restock dishes, glasses, and silverware according to proper sanitation methods.
  • Operate and maintain the automated dishwasher, including assembling, disassembling, cleaning, and de-liming.
  • Follow safe and proper techniques for chemical use and infection control.
  • Assist with food preparation and service, including scraping soiled dishes and placing them in the dishwasher.
  • Supervise the travel of dishes through the dish machine and assess problems and breakdowns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Director.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED at a minimum.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and associates.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Physical requirements include bending, standing, lifting, stooping, sitting, walking, stretching, and ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
