Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare roadway/highway design work local standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout, sight distance determination, interchange layout, right of way, and construction plans.
  • Prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right of way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Prepare cost estimates using MS Excel and the Estimator software and utilizing the RS Means database and other client-required software.
  • Draft priced technical proposals per the Request for Proposal (RFP) or Proposed Change Orders (PCO) as they arise.
  • Manage junior and mid-level engineers and provide guidance and technical assistance as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Maryland (MD).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license a plus.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D / OpenRoad / InRoad / Microstation / Bluebeam / Revit / MS Office.
  • Must be familiar with performing traffic analysis using synchro modeling.
  • Strong project management skills and leadership capability including tracking project budget and internal workload management.
