The Per Diem Relief Cook is a temporary kitchen staff member who assists the House Chef in covering absences, including weekends, holidays, and vacations. This role is responsible for maintaining safe food handling practices, preparing meals for residents, and assisting with therapeutic nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the House Chef in preparing lunch and dinner for residents
  • Ensure safe food handling practices in accordance with sanitation and infection control procedures
  • Assist with therapeutic nutritional needs of residents
  • Help develop household menus and special food orders
  • Assist with food storage and inventory management

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of formal cooking experience
  • Current ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English
  • Basic computer skills
