Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Graphic Packaging International. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and servicing all production and support equipment within the facility in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair, maintain, and install wiring, motors, motor controls, PLCs, AC/DC drives, transformers, motors, generators, lighting, instrumentation, valves, and other electrical systems.
  • Maintain and repair equipment, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLC equipment, variable speed drives, level, pressure, and temperature controls, automatic and pneumatic controls for flow pressure, turbine generators, breakers, and power distribution equipment.
  • Provide technical support by operating a variety of electrical testing equipment to locate and determine types of electrical malfunctions within the mill.
  • Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
  • Apply NFPA Guidelines, including publication 70 (National Electric Code).
Requirements
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Experience with AC and DC drives, variable frequency drives, PLC, and motor controls, as well as all types of electrical phasing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools, as well as technical testing equipment consistent within the electrical field.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to update job knowledge through participation in educational opportunities.
  • Ability to respond and react to potential mechanical, electrical equipment, and structural failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical process abnormalities and malfunctions.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime.
Desired Background
  • 3-5 years of troubleshooting experience with close support of production equipment.
  • Experience with electric motors, drives, and PLCs.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong preferred Electrical Journeyman Card.
