Speech Language Pathologist Position

New Story Schools is a leading special education provider dedicated to making a lasting impact on students' lives. Our schools offer small class sizes, individualized learning plans, and a supportive environment where students are empowered to succeed academically and socially.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in State College, PA 16801. This role offers a competitive salary of $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits including relocation assistance up to $10,000, comprehensive support, paid time off, flexible schedule, tuition reimbursement, health & wellness benefits, and retirement plan.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducting assessments and interpreting data to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to implement effective speech-language therapy activities tailored to each student's needs.
  • Monitoring and adjusting treatment plans, ensuring clear communication among all team members.
  • Developing IEP goals and administering tests to support ongoing progress.
  • Providing insightful reports and recommendations for student needs.
  • Utilizing behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
  • A master's degree from an accredited academic program.
  • Active ASHA certification for speech-language pathologists (CCC-SLP) and/or audiologists (CCC-A).
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child's educational/behavioral program.
  • Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
