We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate After-school Mentor to support students in foster care in Thief River Falls, MN.
About the RoleAs an After-school Mentor, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support, guidance, and academic assistance to students in foster care. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, fostering academic growth, and promoting positive relationships with students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement engaging activities to promote academic growth and social development
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience
- Assist students with homework completion and provide positive reinforcement
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians and school staff
- Collaborate with school staff to contribute to a nurturing environment and support student success
- A love of working with children and a passion for helping others
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team
