Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation: Prepare and load chick transport vehicles with up to 115,200 newly hatched chicks, ensuring environmental requirements are met.
  • Route Navigation: Plan and execute safe and cost-efficient routes to Perdue contract farms, prioritizing timely delivery and chick safety.
  • Maintenance and Sanitation: Perform routine maintenance and sanitation of transportation vehicles to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Logistics and Reporting: Monitor and record farm conditions at delivery, maintaining accurate records and reporting to relevant teams.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school degree required.
  • Experience: Class A Commercial Drivers License and two years of commercial driving experience or completion of Perdue in-company driver's training program.

Working Conditions:

  • Environmental Factors: Work in varying seasonal temperatures, with exposure to chlorinated water, ammonia vapors, caustic detergents, and lubricating oils.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 10 pounds, and work outside in all types of weather conditions.
