As a Security and Safety Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the physical security and safety of our retail stores and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels to proactively address security and safety concerns.
  • Monitor and Assess: Regularly monitor and assess the physical security and safety of our retail stores and events, identifying potential hazards and security violations.
  • Engage with Members and Teams: Foster a positive and engaging attitude with all members and teams, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Patrol and Respond: Conduct regular patrols and respond to incidents or suspicious activity, providing clear and concise reports to the Asset Protection team and store management.
  • Represent REI: Represent REI in court, as required, and provide expert testimony on security and safety matters.
  • Support Other Stores: Provide Asset Protection services to other market stores, as needed.
  • Adhere to Policies: Ensure adherence to REI's policies and procedures, implementing them throughout the store and promoting a culture of compliance.
  • Emergency Response: Assist management in emergency situations, protecting evidence and providing direction to others.
  • Training and Development: Participate in periodic training and subject matter updates, staying up-to-date on the latest security and safety best practices.
  • Special Events: Develop and execute security strategies for special REI events, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all attendees.
