Position SummaryThe Grounds Maintenance Specialist will perform a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing and preserving the visual appeal of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere for all visitors and staff.
- Ensure walkways, driveways, and public areas are free from debris and that waste bins are regularly emptied.
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve the grounds and building aesthetics.
- Operate company-owned vehicles and powered lawn equipment.
- Engage in planting, weeding, mulching, and preparing areas for various installations.
- Trim and shape shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth.
- Clear snow from public spaces during winter weather and apply safety materials as needed.
- Assist team members as directed by supervisors.
- Identify and report any defective materials or unusual conditions to management.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
- Follow all safety protocols and respond to emergency situations as required.
- Report any OSHA violations to management.
- Communicate any project-related issues or delays promptly.
- Notify supervisors of equipment malfunctions or unusual incidents.
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Previous landscaping experience is preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for interaction with colleagues and clients.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are necessary.
- Reasoning Ability: A solid understanding of mechanical systems and their safe operation is important.
- Certificates: A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Employees must be capable of meeting the physical demands of this position, which includes the ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds and perform various physical tasks in different environmental conditions.
Work EnvironmentThis role may involve exposure to a range of temperatures and weather conditions, and employees must be prepared to transition between job sites safely.
All candidates must be able to obtain security clearance.
