Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Systems Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment in an adult correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure the integrity of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Supervise inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis.
  • Assist in other areas of the Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, plumbing, or outside maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Considerable experience in electronics and CCTV troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of tele-communication equipment and functionality.
  • Correctional experience.
  • Knowledge of perimeter security and public address systems.
  • Working knowledge of electronics theory, including troubleshooting, calibration, test procedures, and circuit analysis.
  • Knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate, modify, and perform component-level repair on a variety of electronic instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, flow charts, truth tables, and service manuals.
  • Knowledge of two-way radio systems.
