The Hibbing Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) is seeking a Full-Time Staff LEAD Physician.

CBOCs within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System provide essential services to Veterans in their local communities, serving over 18,000 Veterans across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

We are looking for a Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained primary care provider with both administrative and supervisory experience to take on the role of Medical Lead at a VA clinic.

Our facilities are equipped with modern medical technology, including a lab, x-ray, and telemedicine capabilities.

Our physicians address the primary care needs of the rural areas of Hibbing and Ely through a collaborative team approach, working alongside nursing staff and an onsite clinical pharmacist.

Mental health services are integrated within the clinic to ensure comprehensive care for the Veterans we serve.

Patient Care
Providers are encouraged to spend quality time with their patients, with established patient visits lasting 30 minutes and new patient visits lasting 60 minutes.

Responsibilities include managing both scheduled and unscheduled patients, with an assigned patient panel determined by the VHA PCMM software tailored to their practice and setting.

Focus areas include chronic disease management, mental health collaboration, weight management initiatives, and health promotion/disease management.

The Medical Lead will be responsible for recruiting providers, overseeing clinical operations, supervising all medical staff, and collaborating with the Hibbing Nurse Manager to administer the clinic.

This position does not require emergency calls, night shifts, or weekend work, as services are provided onsite only.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is determined by the Physicians Compensation Panel.

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus) may be authorized.

Paid Time Off includes 50-55 days of annual leave (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days for CME).

Retirement and Insurance
Employees are eligible for a traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.

Health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options are available, many of which can be carried into retirement.

Licensure and Qualifications
Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. State or territory.

Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal/Family Medicine and 2-3 years of clinical experience are required.

Administrative and supervisory experience is preferred.

This position requires a pre-employment physical examination to ensure candidates can perform essential functions safely and effectively.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
