Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience)

Job Description:

As an Emergency Response Specialist, your primary duties will include responding to fire alarms and other emergency calls, performing necessary functions to protect lives and property, and working according to set procedures under close supervision. You will also provide public education on fire safety and report to the Fire Lieutenants.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; or high school diploma supplemented by a minimum of two years' experience in the firefighting field.
  • Valid Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • EVDT, Pump Ops I, Pump Ops II, and Aerial Ops certifications.
  • Hazmat Technician, ICS 100/200/700/800 certifications.
  • Valid SC EMT Certification.

Physical Requirements:

You must be physically able to operate a variety of heavy machines and equipment. This includes exerting up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Additionally, you must be able to push, stoop, lift, pull, reach, kneel, climb, crouch, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 80 pounds.

Mental Demands:

  • Frequently requires time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, irregular schedule/overtime, and working closely with others as part of a team.
  • Occasionally requires tedious or exacting work and noisy/distracting environment.
