Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at OmniOn Power in Austin, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain electrical frameworks, including detection and correction of faults in existing systems.
  • Perform inspections, conduct assessments, and work with customers to determine issues warranting attention.
  • Install and restore electrical frameworks, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, perform inspections, and diagnose issues to provide timely solutions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Mentor apprentices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Select, install, and preserve the functionality of electrical equipment, including wires, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards.
  • Set up and maintain electrical machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and log time and resources spent on each task to calculate costs.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Act as a company qualifier for electrical contractor licenses in multiple states.
  • Install and service industrial equipment, including DC power systems, and supervise internal/subcontractor teams.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship
  • Valid state license permitting practice as a journeyman electrician
  • Four years of experience as a journeyman electrician
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability and willingness to travel 100% of the time with overnight stays
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Electrical Contractor Qualifier Licenses or reciprocity in multiple states as required for OmniOn Power
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Prior field engineering experience
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in telco, data center, or other critical power facilities
