Cardiovascular Diagnostic Sonographer

About the Position:
This role is part of our team at Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain informed consent, and review patient history to determine proper selection of protocols
- Explain examination methods to patients, assess their status, and complete diagnostic techniques/tests to ascertain their ongoing condition
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type ordered, ensuring quality images and coordinating preparation of images/exams for physician partners
- Document patient-related information thoroughly and accurately, communicating effectively with patients, family, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Participate in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS - Reg Cardiac Sonographer, required; new graduate hires must obtain registry within 18 months of hire
- Health Care Provider Life Support certification, required
- Associates degree, preferred
- One (1) year ultrasound experience, preferred
Working Conditions:
The position requires ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers is necessary to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. The job involves frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Salary Range:
$34.06 - $52.55 per hour, dependent on experience.
