We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Based Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Family Service Rochester. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring student success in their learning environment by collaborating with school professionals, providing direct therapeutic services to students and families, and providing training on mental health topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health therapeutic services, co-located in the school setting to increase access for students who would otherwise not have access to services.
  • Consistently demonstrate clinical competence by providing therapy and diagnostic services to students and their families.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with school sites and community members to expand and maintain SBMH collaborative efforts.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a human service field and licensure in the State of Minnesota for independent practice in social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy OR qualified as a Clinical Trainee working towards independent licensure, as defined by State of Minnesota statutes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse client and professional demographics, a profound understanding of family systems, and adeptness in deploying efficacious interventions.
  • Proficiency in functioning within a collaborative school team environment, coupled with strong communication skills for interaction with colleagues, co-workers, clients, and referral sources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or a keen interest in developing expertise in a Trauma-Informed, Solution-Focused, brief therapy model of practice.
  • Knowledge pertaining to the principles and techniques of mental health consultation, education, and prevention within the community.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to an electronic health record system.
