Join Our Team as a Labor and Delivery Nurse - PRN

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the OB Unit, working closely with our OB Nurse Manager to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality nursing care to newborn and maternal patients in the OB Unit
  • Assure that patient and family needs are met, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety measures
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Carry out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act
  • Establish treatment priorities based on medical and nursing diagnosis
  • Recognize patient problems and complications, intervening appropriately
  • Accountable for the safe administration of medication
  • Assess patient needs for discharge planning on admission
  • Plan and coordinate work flow to ensure completion of assigned duties in a timely manner
  • Assess patient and family physical and psychosocial needs
  • Identify need for patient and family teaching
  • Actively involve patient and family in plan of care when appropriate
  • Report significant changes in patient condition or response to treatment to supervisor or physician promptly
Requirements

We're looking for a PRN Labor and Delivery Nurse who meets the following requirements:

  • Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Colorado
  • One year recent relevant experience preferred
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and NRP required upon hire or within 6 months and must remain current
  • Must be willing to cross-train into all areas of the OB Department
  • PRN minimum requirement: 2 shifts per month, 1 holiday per year
