Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at the Porterville Developmental Center. As a key member of our medical department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our clients with pulmonary disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation of pulmonary dysfunction in clients
  • Provide care and treatment for clients with pulmonary disorders using respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, ventilatory assistance, and other therapy and care according to accepted respiratory care procedures
  • Administer various types of prescribed respiratory treatments and respiratory care to patients according to accepted respiratory care procedures
  • Maintain current BLS (CPR) and ACLS certifications
Requirements
  • Current California license for Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to participate in client containment, intervention, or restraint
  • Ability to work extended hours and various shifts
  • Ability to float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so
Working Conditions

Ongoing interaction with clients, personnel, and the general public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
