Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting initial investigations and providing legal analysis and advice.
  2. Drafting and submitting legal documents and pleadings.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
  • Active member of the Texas State Bar in good standing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
  • Experience with legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw.
  • Understanding of the insurance sector, claims processes, and the legal environment surrounding insurance defense litigation.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling insurance claims and general commercial litigation.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proactive approach to managing files and caseloads, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to budget and assess client exposure effectively.
  • Understanding of the staff counsel function within the broader business context.
  • Experience in a paperless and remote working environment.
