Job Summary

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to manage fabrication projects from receipt of order through design, procurement, fabrication testing, shipment, installation, and start-up. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and be able to effectively communicate with customers, internal staff, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects of varying size, ensuring timely and economic results.
  • Coordinate the efforts of subordinate engineers and staff, delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Interface with customers to design equipment and execute projects, considering customer needs, internal/external production capabilities, financial targets, and available resources.
  • Perform liaison work, contacting other departments and outside vendors to obtain services or pertinent information.
  • Determine make versus buy decisions for project items, based on customer requirements, company strategy, and engineering management direction.
  • Prepare drawings and 3D models of parts or products, utilizing Autodesk software products and incorporating manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Accept and manage product development projects, understanding and translating manufacturing process and capacity constraints.
  • Support quote generation for parts, service, and capital equipment, identifying requirements and providing cost summaries.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with products and develop solutions with customers in an efficient and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • 4+ years of broad engineering experience, including product design, manufacturing methodology, tooling, and laboratory work.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability under the company's motor vehicle insurance policy.
