Position Summary

We are looking for an accomplished Engineering Manager with extensive expertise in SolidWorks, sheet metal, and structural fabrication. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to precision engineering, possess exceptional attention to detail, and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement work instructions, daily tasks, and staffing plans for various phases of metal fabrication projects, including recruitment or assignment of engineering personnel as necessary.
  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of design engineers, drafters, tool engineers, and production teams to ensure timely project progression within budget constraints.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and tooling essential for fabrication initiatives.
  • Track project progress through engineering phases and ensure proper management by engineering staff during production.
  • Guide and develop a top-tier engineering workforce.
  • Assess project status and adjust schedules as needed while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in internal meetings with production teams to ensure effective communication and feedback to the engineering department.
  • Represent the company at customer sites and during quality audits as required.
  • Act as a technical resource for engineering and production teams to resolve issues promptly and accurately.
  • Enhance and streamline engineering and estimating processes and technologies.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as necessary to fulfill business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies in all tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to ascertain project requirements, communicate updates, and proactively address conflicts or challenges.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).

· Mastery-level proficiency in SolidWorks, with at least two years of experience in complex part and assembly modeling.

· Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and experience applying them to technical drawings.

· Proven ability to operate efficiently in a high-mix, low-volume fabrication environment.

· Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

· In-depth understanding of sheet metal and structural steel manufacturing techniques and processes.

· Familiarity with other CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and experience in sheet metal design is advantageous.

· Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
