HVAC Service Technician Job Description

Rogers Mechanical Contractors is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Startup and test HVAC equipment on commercial and industrial facilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment
  • Log all startup information and service work orders into company-provided iPads
  • Meet equipment startup deadlines and inform Service Manager of any issues
  • Maintain inventory and cleanliness of company-provided vehicles
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures of Rogers Mechanical Contractors and General Contractors
  • Clean, adjust, and maintain HVAC systems
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to customers
  • Work after hours, weekends, and short notice as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment function and operations
  • Ability to properly braze copper refrigerant piping
  • Proficient in reading schematics and mechanical prints
  • Air duct distribution systems in commercial and industrial settings
  • Relevant policies and procedures of installation and maintenance
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on HVAC systems
  • Ability to safely work at elevations such as roofs, scissor lifts, and ladders
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other trades
  • Time management skills
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • OSHA 10 Certification required
  • EPA certified
  • At least 10 years of experience in HVAC service and maintenance
