Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for initial patient assessments, coordination of care, and follow-up communications with patients and families. Ideal candidates should hold relevant certifications and focus on delivering exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Some key duties include:
• Performing initial assessments and triage of patients based on pertinent information
• Keeping track of procedure and laboratory results, discussing them with physicians, and returning calls to families and patients regarding the results and plans
• Assisting with arranging follow-up care for patients
• Answering phone calls from established patients and their families, assessing their needs, and providing updates on patient care
• Discussing treatment plans with physicians and relaying information to families and patients
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) or a related field. Additionally, certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and eligibility/certification by the State Board of Medicine are required. For Nurse Practitioners, a certificate of completion from an approved program is necessary, along with eligibility/certification by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and certification to work with all patient population age groups.
