KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver instruction aligned with the established curriculum and course outlines.

Meet the professional obligations of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
Facilitate student learning and the development of clinical skills while ensuring safety at all times.
Employ hospital documentation methods, including computer usage and Internet and Interactive Technologies as necessary.
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Maintain precise records.
Assignments may require availability during daytime, evening, and weekend hours at clinical sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must satisfy one of the following criteria under (a) through (c): Valid California Community College instructor credential relevant to the subject, per Education Code issued prior to July 1, 1990, and must meet the minimum Assistant Instructor qualifications as established by the Board of Registered Nursing;

A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and must meet the minimum Assistant Instructor qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing.

Alternatively, possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.

Candidates applying based on equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency along with all other required materials.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Current American Heart Association C.P.R. certification.
Current PPD or chest x-ray.
Current Flu Vaccine as required (depending on seasonal guidelines).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Flexibility to collaborate and work with an assigned teaching team or clinical site as necessary.
Exhibit excellent attendance and reliability.
Ability to utilize computers and engage students through Internet and Interactive technologies.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Recent experience in community college or lower division clinical and/or teaching roles.
Expertise and professional experience in the relevant field of the course(s) to be taught.
Conditions of Employment

Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the Board of Trustees.

Work hours and effective date of employment will be coordinated with the supervisor.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments as needed.

Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises.

Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted year-round and will remain in the pool for one year.
