About the JobAs a Registered Dental Hygienist at The John Fornetti Dental Center, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, building strong relationships, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. You will work closely with our dentist to provide high-quality oral health services, adhering to strict OSHA safety and HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
This is a full-time position (32+ hours/week), located on-site in Iron Mountain, Michigan. We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Responsibilities and Duties- Relationship Builder: Provide welcoming, soothing, and professional interactions with patients, updating and maintaining patient records, offering items to increase patients' comfort during treatment experiences.
- Radiography Technician: Obtain patient x-rays and review for potential areas of concern to be addressed by the doctor.
- Oral Health Expert: Select materials and equipment for hygiene visits based on patient oral health evaluations, completes oral cancer screening, dental prophylaxis, cleaning deposits, stains from teeth and beneath gum margins, noting any areas of recession, applying fluoride varnish and other cavity-preventing agents, cleaning, polishing removable appliances, co-diagnosing periodontal disease with the doctor.
- Medical Emergency Back-Up: Support the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies through CPR certification, administration of emergency drugs, and oxygen supply, emergency contact information.
- Sterilization Technician: Monitor treatment facilities for organization, clean treatment facilities post-procedure, prepare for next incoming patient, sharpen, sterilize instruments and equipment to standards.
- Communications: Respond to patient inquiries, provide education on oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, follow-up with vendors for timely arrival of dental supplies ordered, assist Front Office with scheduling patient treatment.
- Operations Assistant: Monitor, maintain, and conserve supplies, inventory, equipment within treatment facilities, other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
