Job Summary:
The Nurse Extern I is a vital member of our healthcare team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with our Nursing Department policies and procedures.
This role offers the opportunity to assist with the care of hospitalized patients, while also developing essential nursing skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with various direct patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring and basic nursing tasks.
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in hospital/department policies, procedures, and protocols as assigned.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an RN accredited school of professional nursing to obtain either an associate degree or bachelor's degree as an RN.
- Must have completed their first clinical and be in good standing in the nursing program.
- Proficient in basic nursing tasks.
- Six (6) months experience in a hospital preferred, but not required.
- AHA BLS required within two (2) weeks of employment.
Work Schedule and Type:
This is a per diem as needed role, with a TBD work schedule.
