Position Overview: The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial documentation to monitor the organization's assets, liabilities, income and expenses, tax obligations, and other related financial operations.

Key Responsibilities: To successfully fulfill this role, the individual must be capable of performing the following tasks; additional responsibilities may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

1. Conducts general cost accounting and other related functions for the organization.

2. Prepares monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

3. Maintains the integrity of the general ledger.

4. Codes invoices, establishes new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly financial records.

5. Reconciles bank accounts on a monthly basis, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from financial institutions.

6. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; oversees accounts receivable collections.

7. Verifies and/or completes payments of invoices related to accounts payable and ensures proper allocation of expenses.

8. Assists external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for the annual audit.

9. Files tax documentation with federal, state, and local governmental agencies.

10. Collaborates with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems; recommends enhancements to improve the accounting software.

11. Oversees the purchasing and invoicing processes.

12. Keeps abreast of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
