Key Responsibilities- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care coordination.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts to population-specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others to set and achieve care goals.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing fiscally responsible care and promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support research and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
- Participate in activities such as value analysis to evaluate patient care products.
- Uphold health care system/organizational policies and procedures, clinical competencies, and legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Resources and Support
- Proactively plan for patient care across the care continuum.
- Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
- Associate's Degree in nursing or graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
- Minimum 1 year relevant, recent, acute care clinical nursing experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (preferred).
