The OpportunityWe're seeking x3 Heads of Category & Procurement Business Partners to join our team on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. This role is a key part of our Net Zero goals, and you'll be at the heart of our energy future.
Key Responsibilities- Align Procurement activities with operating priorities, working closely with Executives.
- Coordinate across Procurement teams to ensure business unit updates, insights, and recommendations.
- Engage and drive strategic relationships with category-critical suppliers, implementing vendor and contract management strategies.
- Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies, providing market capability and capacity intelligence.
- Accountable for procurement strategies and execution, providing strategic and commercial insight.
- Align with category ownership, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Ensure rigorous contract management throughout the lifecycle.
- Lead a highly motivated team, developing talent and a performance management culture.
- Previous procurement experience, delivering category excellence across multiple category areas.
- Ability to communicate dynamically at all levels within National Grid and externally.
- Experience in building high-performing teams, driving strategic change through category intelligence.
- Good understanding of broader business objectives and implications of strategic planning and actions.
- Expert influencing and negotiation skills to drive optimum value through commercially sound contracts.
- Relationship management experience, driving commercial value and performance through major contracts.
- Degree level or relevant professional qualification such as CIPS or equivalent experience.

Salary: $168,000 - $198,000 per year.
