Job DescriptionPosition Overview
The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used for processing metal or plastic materials through various methods such as cutting, shearing, slitting, drilling, crimping, notching, bending, or straightening.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret work orders or production schedules to ascertain specific requirements.
- Configure, test, and fine-tune machines to meet product specifications, utilizing gauges and hand tools.
- Load materials into machinery for processing.
- Align and secure materials against fixtures or stops on machine beds or dies.
- Initiate machine operations, oversee their functionality, and document operational metrics.
- Assess finished products to ensure they meet specifications, employing tools such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
- Inspect completed items for imperfections and categorize defective products based on the nature of the flaws.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery.
- Adhere to all safety regulations set forth by OSHA and the company.
- The organization retains the right to modify or add responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of three years in a machine operator support role.
