NSDI is seeking a part-time CNA Instructor for the LearnMore Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP). The successful candidate will provide orientation and training to students and assist with other functions at the school and assigned clinical training sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement classroom and clinical instruction according to state-approved curriculum.
  • Prepare and present classroom instruction, clinical training, and related activities.
  • Assess and identify students' instructional needs and help address them.
  • Conduct classroom and clinical activities per approved LearnMore requirements.
  • Practice excellence in teaching and instruction, including instructional counseling, clinical training, and academic advising.
  • Complete student records promptly during and after training.
  • Identify students' needs for education and instruction with the RNPD.
  • Administer and grade student quizzes and tests.
  • Monitor students' performance and provide immediate supervision in clinical training.
  • Evaluate students and record grades on appropriate forms.
  • Ensure students' safety and inform them about knowledge and skills evaluation procedures and course completion requirements.
Requirements:
  • A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) with a director of staff development (DSD) certificate and meets the regulatory requirements stated in CCR Title.
  • Possess a valid and current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
  • Have two years' full-time nursing experience working with patients, with a minimum of one year experience as a licensed vocational nurse providing direct patient care in a nursing facility or long-term care facility.
  • Have previous teaching experience in a nursing-related field.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Be approved by the CDPH before teaching any NATP class.
Working Conditions:
  • Part-time, non-exempt position with flexible work environment.
  • Work will be performed in school, clinical/healthcare settings, and NSDI headquarters, as well as in an office setting, and requires the use of electronic equipment, including computers, telephone, etc.
  • Flexibility in schedule, including scheduled evenings and weekends, as required by the school schedule.
  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal and telephone communication. Ability to sit for long periods, standing, computer entry, walking, repeated bending, lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs., reaching.
