Cytogenetics Specialist

The Cytogenetics Technologist position at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center involves performing comprehensive chromosomal analysis and/or FISH analysis using high-resolution microscopes and digital imaging systems. This role requires a strong understanding of cytogenetics principles and techniques, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Conduct chromosomal analysis and/or FISH analysis on blood, bone marrow, and solid tumor specimens
• Operate high-resolution microscopes and digital imaging systems
• Analyze data and report results to the laboratory team
• Assist with clerical and processing procedures leading up to final analysis

• Bachelor's degree with MT (ASCP) certification or a Bachelor's degree in a certified cytogenetics degree program
• Post-degree experience in a cytogenetics lab setting and experience in cancer cytogenetic analysis desired
• Certification as CG (ASCP) required within 2 years of start date

This role is part of the Clinical Laboratories function at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, with a focus on cytogenetics. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
