Job Summary

Forward March Inc. is collaborating with a prominent construction equipment rental company to expedite Veterans and military spouses towards significant career opportunities in this industry. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic III to join our team.

This role consists of minimizing customer downtime on equipment through quick, accurate diagnosis and repair. As a Field Service Technician, you will be onsite with customers, performing maintenance and small repairs on various types of construction equipment. When not in the field, you will work within the branch shop, troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, ignition, and pneumatic systems, diagnosing diesel and gas engines, and performing maintenance on drive trains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and smaller tools.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in less-than-ideal weather conditions, while maintaining safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics and determine the appropriate repair procedures for equipment issues.
  • Travel to job sites and transport equipment to and from the service location, requiring a valid driver's license.
Requirements
  • Five to seven years' experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction, heavy equipment, or equipment rental background.
  • Must have the tools needed to perform repairs, with an estimated value of 10K.
  • Experience with diesel and gas engines, as well as drive trains, is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills, with experience in electrical, hydraulic, fuel systems, ignition, and drivetrain.
  • A DOT medical card is required, and we can help you obtain one if needed.
  • Clean driving record, as you will be driving a field service truck.
