We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at WellSpan Health. As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide comprehensive athletic training services to patients and athletes at designated settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic athletic training services, including injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events, and supervise onsite treatments and programs of reconditioning for injured athletes.
- Carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations made by the team physician and communicate appropriately with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintain relationships with referring physicians, businesses, schools, coaches, and other referral sources within the local community.
- Utilize appropriate, sound, and up-to-date clinical techniques to effectively assess and treat athletic injuries.
- Record athletic injuries and treatments as rendered and maintain records in accordance with the district/organization/WellSpan guidelines.
- Assist the examining physician in implementation of pre-participation examinations for prospective athletes and measure patient's/student's progress and level of function in a manner appropriate for specific age groups.
- Continuously work cooperatively with physicians and other care team members (including parent/guardian) by advising of any change in athlete's progress through an ongoing status report.
- Assist physical therapists in the treatment of patients with sports or orthopedic conditions referred for rehabilitation.
- Maintain, order, and organize everyday supplies necessary to deliver proper evidence-based treatment of athletes within the guidelines of the department.
- Actively participate in departmental performance/quality improvement program(s) to achieve measurable and sustained levels of improvement, ensure quality outcomes, and customer experience for the athlete/school/organization.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patients, visitors, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations, learning the impact of medical errors, and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Maintain professional growth and development.
- Provide outstanding service to all patients, providers, coworkers, and customers; foster teamwork; and practice fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Entry-level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.
- Licensed Athletic Trainer upon hire.
- Heartsaver CPR/AED upon hire.
- Graduate of a Commission on the Accredited of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program or an athletic trainer internship program.
