Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing high voltage substations, applying advanced engineering principles and practices, and making independent decisions on engineering problems and methods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate, engineer, and design analysis for new and retrofit switchyard and substation projects up to 765kV
  • Design and modify physical design, specify and layout major equipment and structures required for high voltage switchyards and substations
  • Prepare detailed drawings, including site plans, plan and elevation views, grounding, conduit, lighting, and control building arrangements and details
  • Perform complex calculations, such as short circuit grounding, voltage drop, circuit ampacities, lightning protection analysis, bus calculations, transformer and bus sizing calculations, fault calculations, and AC and DC auxiliary system sizing calculations
  • Develop material specifications and provide procurement support
  • Monitor budget and schedule for assigned tasks
  • Collaborate with other engineering and design disciplines to ensure seamless project execution
  • Provide technical direction to subordinate team members
  • Ensure the quality of documents meets company and client standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in substation electrical engineering with a strong understanding of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly develop broader knowledge through structured functional assignments
  • Strong computer proficiency, with experience in engineering design software and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
