Position Overview

The Maintenance Director plays a crucial role in overseeing preventative and routine maintenance tasks within our food production facility. This position involves collaborating with staff to diagnose issues, interpret schematics, repair production and facility equipment failures, and ensure optimal equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine maintenance, disassemble equipment, and adjust setups for daily production.
  • Implement preventative maintenance, including daily and weekly inspections of all machinery components.
  • Develop and manage budgets for plant maintenance, projects, and both major and minor line enhancements.
  • Schedule, supervise, and direct the work of maintenance staff.
  • Assess performance and collaborate with management on personnel matters.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Be available for overtime and on-call duties 24/7 for emergency situations, including weekend work as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in food production or facility maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in reading schematics.
  • Experience with SQF or other GFSI programs.
  • A college degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A proactive team player who adapts quickly to new challenges and is open to change.
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical expertise.
  • Ability to work with power tools and handle both high and low voltage systems; must possess personal tools.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as Weber Slicers, Sealers, Multi-Vac, Flow wrappers, and Labelers.
  • Capability to interpret engineering schematics, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Welding and light carpentry skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of engaging with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
