Position Overview:
The Radiation Therapist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, focusing on the administration of radiation treatment as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. This position requires a compassionate approach, as the therapist will interact with a diverse group of individuals, including patients undergoing cancer treatment, healthcare professionals, and family members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radiation therapy to patients in accordance with prescribed treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, including dosimetrists and physicists, to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of radiation therapy processes and effectively communicate this information to patients and staff.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the treatment journey.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Familiarity with departmental operations and the rationale behind radiation therapy.

Preferred Skills:
While prior experience in a Radiation Oncology Department is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
