We are currently seeking a Nutritional Care Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Role Overview:
The Nutritional Care Specialist plays a vital role in providing comprehensive food and nutrition services to residents, working under the guidance of a Registered Dietitian (RD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as directed by the RD, conducting nutrition assessments.
  • Develop and implement tailored nutrition interventions and care plans for residents.
  • Document relevant medical, food, and nutrition data accurately.
  • Review and assess resident menus to ensure nutritional needs are met daily.
  • Deliver individualized or group nutrition education sessions.
  • Monitor meal, snack, and medical food intake to evaluate resident progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of food served to residents.
  • Maintain professional skills and competencies essential for effective practice.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in creating appropriate diet plans based on residents' preferences, health conditions, and physician directives.
  • Evaluate residents' health and dietary needs, calculating nutritional requirements.
  • Educate dietary staff on food and nutrition best practices.
  • Review therapeutic and standard diet plans to ensure compliance with medical orders.
  • Ensure timely completion of nutrition assessments and maintain quality food service.
  • Plan and conduct in-service education programs for the Dietary Department as needed.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, collaborating with the Dietary Manager and RD to ensure high-quality food service.
  • Report any issues to the Dietary Manager or RD and understand the facility's emergency procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Registered Dietitian.

This is a part-time position, requiring 24 hours of work per week.
