WATKINS GLEN INTERNATIONAL

Situated within a five-hour radius of a significant portion of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International stands as the leading road racing venue in North America, recognized multiple times as the "Best NASCAR Track" by USA Today readers. The facility hosts a wide array of prestigious sports car, open wheel, and stock car events throughout the year.

Compensation: The pay for this role is set at $15.00 per hour.

Position Type: This is an event-based role with variable hours per week.

General Schedule: Typical hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, subject to change based on event requirements.

Key Qualifications:
  • Sound judgment and logical thinking abilities;
  • Dependability and punctuality; commitment to being present and on time;
  • Familiarity with the Weekday Safety Team Handbook;
  • Vigilance in observing and reporting on-track activities;
  • Capability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Flagging Responsibilities:

Ensure safe communication and management of race vehicles by:
  • Utilizing flags and hand signals to inform drivers about track conditions and vehicle status;
  • Communicating with the Chief Steward and other officials regarding track conditions and competitor status through the communication network;
  • Executing necessary emergency actions to safeguard the lives of personnel, drivers, and spectators in case of incidents;
  • Maintaining a clear and safe course.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
