Responsibilities

This role requires the successful candidate to perform medical imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment, create high-quality images or videos of internal structures, and analyze results with physicians to diagnose various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
  1. Patient Review: Review patient medical history and physician orders to ensure the correct type of ultrasound procedure is performed.
  2. Equipment Preparation: Prepare ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and has the necessary settings adjusted for the procedure.
  3. Patient Education: Explain the ultrasound procedure to the patient, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
  4. Documentation: Confirm the patient's identity, verify any contraindications (e.g., allergies to contrast agents), and ensure proper documentation is completed.
Conducting Ultrasound Scans:
  1. Patient Positioning: Position patients properly on the examination table to capture clear, high-quality images.
  2. Conductive Gel Application: Apply a conductive gel to the patient's skin to facilitate the transmission of sound waves, ensuring the patient is comfortable during the process.
  3. Ultrasound Equipment Operation: Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings such as depth, focus, and frequency to capture optimal images of organs, tissues, or blood flow.
  4. Image Capture: Use a hand-held ultrasound transducer (probe) to move over the patient's body and capture images or videos of the target area.
  5. Diagnostic-Quality Images: Obtain diagnostic-quality images and videos of organs, blood vessels, muscles, or fetuses (if performing obstetric ultrasounds).
Patient Safety and Comfort:

Documentation and Record-Keeping:
