Job Title: Nighttime Caregiver

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and attentive individual to provide overnight care and companionship to a young man with autism and other disabilities in his family home.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nighttime guardianship, staying awake and attentive to the individual's needs.
  • Assist with personal care, including diaper changes and any additional support required.
  • Offer comfort and reassurance with a calming presence, a gentle touch, or simply holding hands.
  • Utilize video monitoring to keep watch, with time to use a phone or computer when the individual is resting.
  • Apply nannying skills to create a nurturing, secure, and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of caregiving or nanny experience is required.
  • Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs is highly valued.
  • Must pass a criminal background check for safety purposes.
  • Basic sign language skills are a plus.
  • A nurturing spirit and empathy are essential.
  • Comfortable with a friendly therapy dog in the home.
