Job Title: Industrial Painter

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for manually blasting steel and pipe inside an industrial blast booth and operating standard blast pots, equipment, and other structural sub straight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uses high air-pressure sandblasting equipment, chemical application, power tools, and other abrasives to remove rust, grease, dirt, concrete, and old paint prior to painting sub straight.
  • Prepares surfaces and applies primer to pipe, or steel sub straight structures and equipment for primer/finish coats.
  • Prepares and sands rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly.
  • Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Makes decisions based on knowledge of trade and supervisor information/instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in industrial blasting with 8 years in industrial spray application and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience (preferably in a construction environment) using conventional and airless equipment.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required.
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
  • Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
  • Smoke-Free Facility: Smoking not permitted during work hours and must have reliable transportation to work.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness.
  • May be required to use hearing protection in and around areas with moderate/high exposure to high noise levels.
  • May be required to use respiratory protection when working in areas with fumes or airborne particles, including dust.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces or at heights.

Travel:

  • Very little.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience.
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent.
