Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at Timothy G Hastings DDS. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Dental Hygiene Procedures: Conduct thorough dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing to maintain patients' oral health.
  • Conduct Patient Assessments: Evaluate patients' oral health and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions.
  • Administer Anesthesia and Sedation: Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation as needed to ensure patient comfort.
  • Take Dental X-Rays: Take dental x-rays and develop radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
  • Assist Dentist: Assist the dentist during procedures, such as fillings and extractions.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental software.
  • Follow Infection Control Protocols: Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
Requirements
  • Valid State Dental Hygiene License: Possess a valid state dental hygiene license.
  • Graduation from Accredited Program: Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Proficiency in Dental Software: Proficiency in using dental software for patient management and medical coding.
  • Knowledge of Dental Anatomy: Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and periodontal disease.
  • Experience Working with Patients: Experience working with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM Technology: Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Dental Assistant: Certified dental assistant certification is preferred.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work 15-16 hours per week, with an 8-hour shift. The work location is in-person at our dental clinic.
