About the Position:
We are in search of a proactive and skilled Purchasing Manager to enhance our operations. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in directing the procurement and inventory management functions for our cement production facilities. Your duties will encompass formulating and negotiating agreements for goods and services, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and pinpointing opportunities for process enhancements. Collaboration with parent companies, executing competitive bidding processes, and innovating to streamline operations will also be key components of your role.
Core Responsibilities:
- Initiate, develop, and negotiate agreements for goods and services.
- Ensure adherence to procurement agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Lead initiatives for process improvements in procurement, contract management, supplier selection, and sourcing of materials.
- Work in conjunction with parent companies to optimize existing agreements and identify competitive offerings.
- Conduct competitive bidding and negotiate supply and service contracts.
- Formulate and implement procurement policies, processes, and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and associated costs.
- Drive initiatives for inventory reduction and perform analysis on inventory levels.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators related to procurement and inventory management.
- Engage in annual budgeting with a focus on maintenance costs and inventory management.
- Provide monthly financial projections in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Supervise contractor insurance requirements with support from the Purchasing Agent.
- Assist plant operations as required and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or economics.
- A minimum of five years' experience in procurement and contract management within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, well-organized, and experienced in personnel management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple independent projects effectively.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and openness to change.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC.
